What is an EPC?
An Energy performance certificate (EPC) rates the energy effeciency of a Property from A (Most Effecient) to G (least Effecient). It also includes recommendations for improving the Efficiency.
Why do I need an EPC?
You Legally need an EPC if you are selling, renting out or building a property.Landlords must also meet the minimum energy effeciency standards (Usuall a rating of E or above unless exempt).
How long is an EPC Valid for?
An EPC is valid for 10 years from the date of issue.
How much does an EPC Cost?
Pricing varies depending on property size and location.Residential EPCs typically range from £65 - £110.
How long will the assessment take?
Most EPC Assessments take 30 - 45 Minutes
When will I receive my EPC Certificate?
Most customers recieve their EPC within 24 Hours
What happens during an EPC Assessment?
The Assessor will inspect
- Loft Insulation
- Heating system Boiler
- Window Glazing type
- Walls & Roof
- Floor Insulation & complete a floor plan
Do I need to do anything?
You don't have to do much but it does help the assessor if he has access:
- Loft (not blocked by anything)
- Boiler Access
- Access to all rooms in the property ( accurate property floorpan).
Are You Accredited ?
All EPC Assessments must be carried out by a government accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) We are also accredited by Elmhurst Energy.
